Upscale Kosher Dining Done Right: Potomac's Pomegranate Bistro

Peninah and I took a trip down to Potomac to try out the new kosher restaurant, The Pomegranate Bistro. It was a great experience. The restaurant was nice, clean, well-decorated; the staff was courteous and service was prompt. The portions were generous, the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. Reservations can be made quickly and easily via their website. I don't really have anything bad to say.

I highly recommend you give The Pomegranate Bistro a try; it's appropriate both for special occasions and business meetings. As of now, it is, in my opinion, the finest kosher dining experience to be had in the Baltimore-Washington area.

It should be noted that the desserts were all made at the restaurant, no shipping in from NY. It was an excellent dining experience. BTW, we went with Greg's parents as well. We didn't get all of that food by ourselves.

I have a feeling if they are still open for me and BubbyT's birthday I will go with my parents and Nana. (I don't think Anj reads this, but if she does, her birthday, too)

Greg, I couldn't help but notice the great clarity of your photos. I was wondering whether you photoshopped them? If not, what were your camera settings for these pictures (Aperture, ISO, etc.)?

Daniel - the pictures were taken with my Verizon Voyager cell phone, using the default settings (not sure what those are, but I can look them up if you like).

Do they sell beer?

Posted by: David at February 25, 2008 9:08 AM

David: yes, they have a full list of beer, wine and scotch.

Do they have a children's menu?

Haven't been to Pomegranite yet, but saw the article about their kashrut in the Post. I HAVE been to Amanda's - the kosher upscale restaurant on Reisterstown Road, in Pikesville -- twice. That was extremely good and the portions were humongous. I hope the community supports them; it would be a shame to lose them. And the setting is lovely for the business dinners I had there. The place is wrapped in windows looking out over trees and nature. Yasher Koach !!

I have tried the falafel and schwarma at lunch at Amanda's and they are very authentic.
We must support our own fine dining restaurant.
Their desserts are also made in house.

I heard that the chef at the Pomegranate bistro was the one who opened Amanda's in Baltimore.
