Jewish Las Vegas Links
I'll be in Las Vegas this week at a conference. In preparation, I've cobbled together some links to restaurants and shuls. If anyone has any comments on any of these places (either in terms of quality, convenience, appropriateness for business meetings, fastest shacharis, etc.), please let me know.
Restaurants:
Chabad of Las Vegas - Kosher Dining
Sababa Grille
Panini Cafe
Haifa Restaurant
Cleopatra's
Shalom Hunan
More at Shamash.org
The 15 mph limit near the OU shul is very strictly enforced, and is probably the least enjoyable means of losing money in Vegas.
Posted by: Moishe Potemkin at November 12, 2006 4:06 PMDr. Elman is going to be there too this weekend. He told me there are *11* kosher restaurants there!!
Posted by: aishel at November 12, 2006 4:07 PMYeah, the shamash page lists a bunch, I can't directly link to it though (which is dumb on their part). I'm not going to be there for Shabbos.

Posted by: Lanie at November 12, 2006 7:47 PMWent to Sababa last year. Took about 15-20 minutes to get there from the strip but it was well worth the trip. Israeli schwarma type place but clean, bright, and reasonable.

Posted by: Dov at November 13, 2006 2:41 AMI went to Adar Pizza, I remember it being ok but someone with me ordered pizza with mushrooms or something and it was basically plain pizza with topping just thrown on, not even cooked in - it was weird. We also went to some deli on the strip - it was crazy expensive and they charged you extra for pickles, lettuce, chips etc.
Posted by: Erica at November 13, 2006 1:06 PMHaifa Grill and Adar Pizza are definitely the most convenient from the Strip. Basically 7 minute drive from center of the Strip to either. Both are slightly overpriced, but not terribly so, and I thought both places were pretty good. Haifa is east of the Strip, and you turn toward there around where Wynn or the Venetian are. Adar is further north and slightly west of the Strip - I believe on Sahara (the Sahara is at the northern end of the Strip).
Sababa is also good and a bit cheaper, but the drive from the Strip is more like 20 minutes. To Sababa you're driving West toward the mountains.

Posted by: alex at November 15, 2006 2:26 PMThere used to be a really good Chinese restaurant in Brooklyn called Shalom Hunan. My parents are still in mourning from when it went out of business years ago.
