Introducing: The Presence Podcast
Welcome to the first edition of the Presence Podcast (witty name forthcoming). I've been meaning to do podcasts for a while, and finally the opportunity presented itself. Over the summer, I had the chance to hang out with the ADDeRabbi on several occasions, and we often had lively discussions that we both thought would make great podcasts, and so we finally got around to recording one of them. The sound quality leaves a bit to be desired, I had to mess with the amplitude on certain parts to boost the volume, but hopefully the gist of our conversation comes through.
I'm hoping that ADDeRabbi and I will get a chance to do a few more podcasts before he ships off to Israel, and perhaps we'll find a way to continue them long distance. I believe ADDeRabbi will be posting this on his blog as well, so you may find it through his site (although I'm calling this a Presence Podcast, it is as much an ADDeRabbi Podcast); I plan to post more podcasts on Presence in the future, and will have a special podcast feed available so you can subscribe in iTunes.
In the inagural episode, ADDeRabbi and I discuss a post I put up entitled "Good God!," which examines the nature of goodness, human morality, and how this might relate to Genesis. To listen in, just press the play button below (it may take a few seconds to start playing, and you may need to turn up your volume). Enjoy!
If you like, you can also download an MP3 version of Presence and ADDeRabbi - Episode 0.1.
Volume is very low. I had to crank up the mixer.
Posted by: Shalom at July 27, 2006 10:27 AMYes, I mentioned that above; I need to work on my recording setup, and learn the ins and outs of my microphone.
Posted by: Greg at July 27, 2006 10:29 AMWhat are you using to record? I'd recommend Audacity
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Now there's a fine idea!

S.: Perhaps we can get you to come on as a guest?

can you please contact me?
thanks.
Greg,
I think that this is a facinating topic and I am dismayed that the audio quality of your podcast was so poor... A transcript/summary would be appreciated
I think you are on to something with your theory about Adam Harishon Kodem HaChet (pre lapsarian???), however, it can be tweaked in that Adam gained morality via eating the Eitz Hadaas... note the differences between Chochma, Bina, and Daas... I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this with you further during the 8:15 break next shabbos...
