Jews for Jared

Bangitout blog links to a video from a local Cleveland news station reporting on the new Kosher Subway.

A quote from one of the women interviewed:

"Cleveland has a nice, growing Orthodox Jewish community...and so the demand for kosher restaurants is getting bigger and bigger. We even have a kosher donut shop now...

Whoah! A KOSHER DONUT SHOP!?!?!? Alert the media!

Seriously, Cleveland has one thing that makes this all possible: American Greetings.

It'd be nice to get one of these in Baltimore, who knows, with the landscape of kosher establishments likely to change drastically over the next 6 months, anything is possible.

I heard that they are trying to get one here in Baltimore, but the holdup is that they are not able to get the meats as cheaply as all of the other establishments....

What changes do you think are likely in the next six months?
Something closing? Something going treif?

I am pretty sure that at least one of the kosher restaurants will sell to a new owner, which will not keep the place kosher.

I also think a new restaurant, not quite fast food, but not fancy, will open. This will either be Subway-like deli or a Mexican/Chipotle-like fare.

Just guesses/predications, based on minimal amounts of facts.
