A request to readers of this blog, who undoubtedly know more than I do: I am looking for sources that discuss the idea that post-Temple Judiac rituals were created as a memorial to Temple-era ritual that was lost. This could be anything from gemaras (such as those in Sukkah) to books or articles on the subject.

Extra points if the sources discuss the status of both the pre and post-Churban rituals in the times of Moshiach.
