Amazon Plogs

In perhaps the strangest use of blogs to date, Amazon releases "Plogs," a personalized blog of Amazon product information. According to Amazon: "When we think we have something interesting or important to tell you, we'll post it to your Plog." Gee, thanks.

This is blogging backwards - I create the content by my purchases, and they push it back to me. Or, more correctly, shove it down my throat. I'm subscribed, and I didn't even know it.

Note to Amazon - call me when my reviews are viewable in blog format, complete with a metadata-rich syndication feed, instead of locked away up in your system. Or when my Amazon Friends are available via FOAF.

And yes, I realize that this is mostly possible with the Amazon WebServices API, but I've got bigger fish to fry, in the parlance of our times.
