MovableType has an upload files button on the left-hand sidebar menu. Follow the instructions, it will help you create a link to the image you upload.

You can also link directly to images on other sites, but this is considered bad Internet ettiquite. I do it all the time. In all seriousness, if it's a low traffic site, like most of ours, it's not a huge issue.
